Possible Causes
Heating element shorted to chassis, Damaged insulation on wiring harness, Moisture inside elements or connectors, Faulty line filter or suppression capacitor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not repeatedly reset a tripping breaker. Disconnect the oven from power and leave it off until the fault is found.
- Visual inspection: Remove rear and top covers. Look for burnt wires, melted insulation, or signs of arcing near elements and terminal block.
- Insulation test: With all wires disconnected from elements, use a megohmmeter (if available) to test resistance between each element terminal and chassis. Low resistance indicates leakage and the element should be replaced.
- Check wiring harness: Inspect where wires pass through metal panels or near sharp edges. Repair or replace any damaged sections and add protective grommets if missing.
- Line filter and capacitors: Inspect the EMI filter and suppression capacitors for cracks or burns. Replace the filter module if suspect.
- Dry moisture: If the oven was recently cleaned with excessive water or steam, allow it to dry thoroughly for 24 hours before retesting.
- Reassemble and test: After replacing faulty components, restore power and test each function individually to confirm the breaker no longer trips.
