Possible Causes
Uninitialized electronic clock, Faulty timer PCB, Stuck relay on timer board, Power interruption leaving timer in error state
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure hands are dry when operating controls. For internal checks, disconnect mains power.
- Set the clock: Many Severin ovens require the clock to be set before heating is enabled. Follow the user manual to set the current time and exit any automatic program modes.
- Cancel automatic programs: Ensure the oven is not in delayed start or automatic end mode. Press the manual or cancel button to return to manual operation.
- Power reset: Disconnect power for 5 minutes, then reconnect and immediately set the clock. Check if F6 clears.
- Inspect timer module: If F6 persists, remove the control panel and inspect the timer PCB for burnt components or cracked solder joints.
- Replace timer/clock module: If the module is defective, replace it with the correct Severin timer unit. Transfer connectors carefully and secure the board.
- Test: After replacement, set the time and verify that the oven can be started in manual mode without F6.
