Possible Causes
Mis-calibrated control PCB, Aging NTC sensor causing offset, Poor sensor placement, Firmware calibration error
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect mains power before accessing internal components. Use an accurate oven thermometer for calibration checks.
- Verify actual temperature: Place an oven thermometer in the center of the cavity. Set the oven to a known temperature (e.g. 180°C) and compare the displayed vs actual temperature after stabilization.
- Check sensor mounting: Ensure the NTC sensor is correctly positioned and not touching the heating elements or walls directly, which can skew readings.
- Control calibration (if available): Some Severin models allow temperature offset adjustment via service mode. Refer to the service manual to enter calibration mode and adjust the offset to match the thermometer.
- Replace sensor if drifted: If readings are inconsistent or far off, replace the NTC sensor with a new Severin part and retest.
- Replace control PCB if needed: If calibration cannot be adjusted or F7 persists with a new sensor, the control board may be mis-calibrated or faulty and should be replaced.
- Final verification: After repairs, repeat the thermometer test at multiple temperatures to confirm stable and accurate control.
