Oven display and controls dead, no lights, no response

Safety first: Before opening the appliance, verify that the circuit is de-energized at the breaker.

• Check external supply: Confirm that the wall outlet or circuit breaker is supplying power. Reset the breaker if tripped.
• Inspect mains cable: Look for visible damage to the power cord (for plug-in Severin ovens). Replace if cut or crushed.
• Check internal fuse: Access the control PCB and locate any inline or board-mounted fuses. Test continuity and replace blown fuses with identical ratings. Investigate cause of fuse blowing before re-energizing.
• Terminal block: Tighten all screws on the mains terminal block and check for heat damage.
• Test: Restore power and verify that the display and controls function. If the new fuse blows immediately, further diagnosis of short circuits is required.
