Oven display works but heating only starts when the timer is set

Safety first: No internal work is required for this issue; no need to disconnect power.

• Mechanical timer: On knob-type Severin timers, turn the timer knob to the manual or continuous symbol (often a hand icon) or past zero until it clicks into manual mode.
• Electronic timer: Cancel any programmed start/stop times by pressing the cancel or manual button. Ensure the display shows manual operation.
• Test: Set a temperature and function with the timer in manual mode. The oven should start heating immediately.
