Possible Causes
Blown thermal fuse, Open high-limit thermostat, Loose connection at mains terminal block, Failed function selector switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Switch off the circuit breaker or unplug the oven. Verify no voltage is present before testing continuity.
- Check basic settings: Ensure the function selector is set to a heating mode and the temperature knob is not at zero. Confirm the timer is in manual mode.
- Inspect mains terminal block: Access the rear of the oven and check the mains connection block for loose screws or burnt terminals. Tighten and replace damaged parts.
- Test thermal fuse and thermostat: Locate the thermal fuse and high-limit thermostat on the chassis. With power off, test continuity. Replace any open devices with Severin-specified parts.
- Check selector switch: Test continuity through the function selector in a heating position. Replace the switch if internal contacts are open.
- Reassemble and test: After replacing faulty components, restore power and test heating in multiple modes.
