Safety first: Disconnect mains power and allow the oven to cool before testing elements.

Verify with thermometer: Place an oven thermometer inside and compare actual temperature to the set value.
Test each element: Disconnect and measure resistance of top, bottom, and convection elements. Compare to typical values or service data. A significantly higher resistance than normal can indicate a weak element.
Check wiring: Ensure all elements are correctly wired to the selector and control board. Look for disconnected or misrouted wires.
Replace weak element: Install a new Severin heating element for any unit that tests out of specification or shows visible damage.
Re-test temperatures: After replacement, verify that the oven now reaches and maintains the set temperature.
