Possible Causes

Open convection heating element, failed convection fan motor, wiring fault to convection circuit, failed convection relay on control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect power and allow the oven to cool before working on rear components.

  • Test convection element: Access the rear of the oven cavity and locate the circular convection element. Disconnect its wires and measure resistance; an open circuit indicates a failed element.
  • Check convection fan: Spin the convection fan by hand; it should move freely. If stiff or noisy, the motor may be failing. Test motor resistance and replace if open or shorted.
  • Inspect wiring: Check the harness from the control board to the convection element and fan for burns or loose connections.
  • Control relay: If both element and fan test good, the convection relay on the control board may not be energizing. Replace the EOC if confirmed.
