Possible Causes
Shorted oven temperature sensor, sensor wires shorted to chassis, melted sensor harness insulation, failed control board sensor circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before inspection.
- Inspect sensor and wiring: Remove the oven's rear panel. Locate the sensor wiring and check for melted insulation or wires touching the metal chassis.
- Test sensor resistance: Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance at room temperature. A reading near 0Ω indicates a shorted sensor. Replace if shorted.
- Check for shorts to ground: With the sensor disconnected, measure resistance from each sensor lead to the oven chassis. Any low resistance indicates a short in the harness; repair or replace the harness.
- Control board check: If the sensor and harness are good, the sensor input on the EOC may be shorted internally. Replace the control board.
