Possible Causes

Failed cavity cooling fan motor, blocked cooling air vents, faulty overheat thermostat (thermal cut-out), wiring fault between fan and control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect power and allow the oven to cool fully before inspection.

  • Check ventilation: Ensure that the oven's front and rear ventilation openings are not blocked by cabinetry, foil, or other obstructions.
  • Listen for fan operation: During a bake cycle, the cavity cooling fan should run. If you never hear it, suspect the fan motor or its supply.
  • Access fan: Remove the top or rear panel to access the cooling fan. Spin the fan blades by hand; they should move freely. If seized or noisy, replace the fan motor.
  • Test fan motor: With power disconnected, measure resistance across the fan motor terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed motor.
  • Check thermal cut-out: Locate the overheat thermostat on the top or rear of the oven cavity. Test for continuity. If open and not resettable, replace it.
  • Control output: If fan and thermostat are good, the control board may not be energizing the fan relay. Replace the EOC if confirmed.
