Sharp oven displays F9 and the door may remain locked or will not lock/unlock properly.

Safety: Turn off power before attempting to access the lock mechanism. Beware of sharp metal edges.

• Check door alignment: Ensure the oven door closes fully and evenly. A sagging door can prevent the lock from engaging.
• Try a power reset: Turn off the breaker for 5 minutes, then restore power. Sometimes the lock motor will reset and unlock.
• Access lock assembly: Remove the top panel or front trim to reach the door lock motor and latch assembly.
• Inspect lock mechanism: Look for broken plastic parts, bent latch, or disconnected rods. Manually move the lock lever to see if it binds.
• Test lock motor and switches: With a multimeter, check continuity of the lock switches and resistance of the lock motor. Replace the door lock assembly if the motor is open or switches do not change state when actuated.
• Check wiring: Inspect the harness from the lock to the control board for damage or loose connectors.
