Possible Causes

Open-circuit circular convection (ring) element, Open-circuit grill element, Burnt spade connector on top element terminals

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn off power at the breaker and verify with a tester before touching internal parts.

  • Visual check inside cavity: Look at the top grill element and, if visible, the circular element behind the rear panel. Dark burn marks or blisters indicate failure.
  • Access elements: Remove the rear inner panel (for ring element) or top cover (for grill). Note wiring positions or take photos.
  • Test resistance: Disconnect wires and measure each element. A reading of open circuit (OL) means the element is blown and must be replaced.
  • Inspect connectors: Check for overheated spade terminals. Replace any discolored or loose connectors and trim back damaged wire before fitting new terminals.
  • Fit replacement: Install a Siemens-compatible grill or ring element, ensuring all screws are tight and the element is not touching the cavity walls.
