Possible Causes
Failed door lock motor or solenoid, Jammed door latch mechanism, Broken microswitch in door lock assembly
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power. Do not force the door; internal glass can shatter.
- Check for obstructions: Inspect the door latch slot on the oven front for debris or bent metal that could prevent the latch from moving.
- Listen for lock motor: With power on (if safe), start a pyrolytic cycle and listen for the lock motor. No sound suggests a failed motor or no power to it.
- Access lock assembly: Remove the top cover or front panel (depending on model) to reach the door lock unit mounted at the front frame.
- Inspect and test: Check the lock lever for free movement. Test the lock motor coil for continuity and the microswitches for correct open/closed operation with a multimeter.
- Replace assembly: If any component is faulty or the mechanism is worn, replace the complete Siemens door lock assembly rather than individual parts.
