Possible Causes
Failed tangential cooling fan, Obstructed air channels around oven, Seized fan bearings causing low airflow
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Isolate power and allow the oven to cool fully.
- Check ventilation: Ensure that the built-in cabinet cut-outs specified in the Siemens installation manual are present and not blocked.
- Listen for fan: When the oven is started, the cooling fan (not the convection fan) should run quietly. If it is noisy, intermittent, or not running, suspect a fault.
- Access cooling fan: Remove the top cover. The tangential fan is usually mounted above the oven cavity, blowing air across the control panel.
- Inspect and test: Spin the fan by hand; it should rotate freely. Check for 230 V supply at the fan terminals when the oven is running (qualified persons only). No voltage suggests a control issue; correct voltage with no movement indicates a failed fan.
- Replace fan: Fit a genuine Siemens cooling fan assembly, ensuring all ducts and baffles are correctly refitted.
