Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker and allow the oven to cool completely before inspection.
- Step 1 – Check ventilation: Ensure the oven's front and rear vents are not blocked by foil, pans, or cabinetry. Signature Kitchen Suite ovens require proper airflow around the control panel and door.
- Step 2 – Listen for cooling fan: With power restored, start a bake cycle and listen for the internal cooling fan (usually behind the control panel). If it does not run within a few minutes, the fan or its control circuit may be faulty.
- Step 3 – Inspect high-limit thermostat: Disconnect power. Remove the rear panel to locate the high-limit thermostat (usually a small round device with two terminals mounted on the oven cavity). Check for signs of overheating or discoloration.
- Step 4 – Test continuity: Using a multimeter, test the high-limit thermostat for continuity. If it is open at room temperature and not a manual-reset type, replace it.
- Step 5 – Check sensor and wiring: Test the oven temperature sensor as described for F02. Inspect wiring to the control board for damage.
Note: Repeated F04 errors after replacing parts may indicate a control board issue or installation problem (insufficient cabinet clearance). Consult a professional installer if needed.
