Possible Causes
Loose ribbon cable between UI and main control, Failed touch panel, Moisture intrusion into control panel, Faulty main control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before removing the control panel.
- Step 1 – Power cycle: Turn the breaker OFF for 5 minutes, then ON. If F06 returns immediately, continue.
- Step 2 – Inspect control panel: Check for signs of liquid spills or steam damage around the display and keypad. Allow the panel to dry completely if recently exposed to moisture.
- Step 3 – Access UI connections: Remove the upper rear panel or front bezel (depending on model) to access the user interface board and ribbon cable.
- Step 4 – Reseat ribbon cable: Carefully disconnect the flat ribbon cable between the UI and main control. Inspect for corrosion or damage, then firmly reconnect.
- Step 5 – Visual inspection: Look for burnt components or cracked solder joints on the UI board. If present, replace the UI assembly.
- Step 6 – Replace control if needed: If reseating cables does not resolve the issue, the main control board may need replacement.
Note: Static discharge can damage electronic boards. Ground yourself before handling control components.
