Possible Causes
Dirty burner ports, Weak or slow igniter, Incorrect gas pressure, Misaligned burner or igniter
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off gas and power before cleaning burners. If you smell strong gas, ventilate and contact your gas supplier.
- Step 1 – Clean burner: Remove the oven bottom panel and burner assembly. Clean burner ports with a soft brush or toothpick; do not enlarge the holes.
- Step 2 – Inspect igniter position: Ensure the igniter is properly positioned close to the burner ports where gas first exits.
- Step 3 – Replace weak igniter: If the igniter glows but ignition is delayed, replace the igniter.
- Step 4 – Gas pressure check: Have a qualified technician verify gas pressure and adjust if necessary.
Warning: Do not attempt to adjust gas valves or regulators yourself unless you are licensed to do so.
