Possible Causes
Tripped house breaker on one leg of 240 V supply, Open bake and broil elements, Failed main control relay, Loose power harness to control
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before removing any panels. High voltage is present.
- Step 1 – Check breakers: For electric ovens, verify that the double-pole breaker is not partially tripped. Reset by turning fully OFF then ON.
- Step 2 – Test other functions: Check if the cooktop (on range models) works. If the cooktop heats but the oven does not, the issue is likely within the oven circuit.
- Step 3 – Inspect elements: Visually inspect bake and broil elements for damage. Replace any visibly broken elements.
- Step 4 – Access rear wiring: Pull the oven out, unplug it, and remove the rear panel. Check that the main harness connector to the control board is fully seated and not burnt.
- Step 5 – Professional diagnosis: If power supply and elements are good, the main control board or internal thermal fuse may be open and should be tested and replaced by a technician.
Warning: Do not attempt live voltage tests unless you are trained and using proper equipment.
