Signature Kitchen Suite
Temperature regulation / calibration issue
Oven heats but never reaches set temperature; food undercooked
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Drifting oven temperature sensor, Miscalibrated control, Heat loss through door gasket, Convection fan not operating
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power before accessing internal components.
- Step 1 – Verify with thermometer: Place an oven-safe thermometer in the center of the oven and preheat to 350°F. Compare the displayed temperature to the thermometer reading after 20 minutes.
- Step 2 – Calibrate control: If the difference is within about 35°F, use the oven's settings menu to adjust the temperature offset (see user manual).
- Step 3 – Inspect door gasket: Check the door gasket all around for gaps, tears, or flattening. Replace if it does not seal evenly.
- Step 4 – Check convection fan: In convection mode, listen for the fan. If it does not run, see the convection fan fault procedures; poor air circulation can cause uneven or low temperatures.
- Step 5 – Sensor replacement: If calibration cannot correct the issue, replace the oven temperature sensor probe.
Tip: Avoid opening the door frequently during preheat; this can significantly lower the actual temperature.
