Oven light stays on all the time and will not turn off

Safety first: Turn off power before accessing switches or control boards.

• Step 1 – Check door switch: Locate the door switch plunger around the oven frame. Press it manually; you should hear a click. If it feels loose or does not click, it may be faulty.
• Step 2 – Test switch: Remove the switch (usually held by a screw or clip) and test for continuity with a multimeter while pressing and releasing the plunger. Replace if it does not change state.
• Step 3 – Inspect door alignment: Ensure the door is properly aligned and fully depressing the switch when closed.
• Step 4 – Control board: If the switch is good, the light relay on the control board may be stuck closed. Replace the control board if necessary.

Temporary workaround: You can remove the light bulb to prevent constant illumination, but this does not fix the underlying issue.
