Possible Causes
Shorted oven temperature sensor, Failed electronic oven control temperature circuit, Stuck heating element relay, Shorted heating element to chassis
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power immediately if the oven overheats. Allow it to cool fully before inspection.
- Check elements: Inspect bake and broil elements for visible damage or spots where the element has arced to the oven cavity. Replace any damaged elements.
- Test sensor: Measure the oven sensor resistance at room temperature (~1050–1100 Ω). Replace if out of specification.
- Inspect wiring: Look for melted or shorted wires from the elements to the control board. Repair or replace damaged wiring.
- Control board relays: If elements heat even when the oven is off, the relay on the EOC may be welded closed. Replace the control board.
