Possible Causes

Open bake element, Open broil element, Tripped or failed high-limit thermal cutoff, Failed electronic oven control relay

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before testing elements or opening panels.

  • Check elements visually: Inspect the bake (bottom) and broil (top) elements for breaks, blisters, or burn spots. Replace any visibly damaged element.
  • Test element continuity: Disconnect at least one wire from each element and measure resistance with a multimeter. A typical element reads 15–40 Ω. Replace any open element.
  • Inspect thermal cutoff: Access the rear of the oven and locate the high-limit thermostat/thermal cutoff mounted on the oven body. Test for continuity; replace if open.
  • Control output check: If elements and thermal cutoff are good, the EOC may not be sending power. With extreme caution and proper training, check for voltage at the element terminals during a bake command. If no voltage, replace the control board.
