Possible Causes
Worn convection fan motor bearings, Loose fan blade or mounting nut, Debris caught in fan blade, Warped fan blade contacting shroud
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power and allow the oven to cool before working inside the cavity.
- Remove rear panel: Take out oven racks and remove the interior rear panel to expose the convection fan.
- Inspect fan blade: Check for bent blades, loose mounting nut, or debris. Tighten the fan nut and remove any foreign objects.
- Spin test: Rotate the fan by hand. If it feels rough, wobbles, or grinds, the motor bearings are likely worn.
- Replace motor assembly: Remove the fan blade and motor mounting screws from inside or rear of the oven (depending on model). Install a new Sub-Zero convection fan motor and reassemble.
