Possible Causes
Failed door lock motor assembly, Misaligned or broken door lock latch, Faulty door lock position switch, Damaged wiring between lock assembly and control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before servicing the door lock. Do not force the door open if the oven is hot.
- Allow cooling: If the oven was in self-clean, wait until it has fully cooled. Some models will not unlock until a safe temperature is reached.
- Check for mechanical obstruction: Inspect the door latch area for bent metal, debris, or misalignment preventing the latch from moving.
- Access lock assembly: Depending on model, remove the top panel or rear panel to access the door lock motor and latch assembly.
- Inspect wiring and switches: Check the lock motor connector and any micro-switches for secure connections. Look for broken switch actuators or loose mounting screws.
- Test lock motor: With power off, test the lock motor coil for continuity. An open coil indicates a failed motor that must be replaced.
- Replace lock assembly: If the motor or switches are defective, replace the complete door lock assembly to ensure proper alignment and operation.
- Control board: If the lock assembly is good but E10 persists, the lock control circuit on the main board may be faulty and require replacement.
