Possible Causes
Failed door switch or reed sensor, Misaligned door or hinge, Broken or loose door switch actuator, Damaged wiring to door sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power before accessing door switches or internal wiring.
- Check door alignment: Verify that the oven door closes evenly and fully. Sagging hinges or warped door can prevent the switch from actuating.
- Inspect switch area: Locate the door switch or sensor (often near the top or side of the cavity opening). Check for broken plastic, loose mounting screws, or bent actuators.
- Test switch: With power off, remove the switch and test continuity with a multimeter while pressing and releasing the actuator. Replace the switch if it does not change state reliably.
- Check wiring: Inspect the harness from the switch to the control board for cuts, pinches, or loose connectors. Repair or replace as needed.
- Hinge repair: If the door does not close far enough to actuate the switch, inspect and replace worn hinges or hinge receivers.
