Possible Causes

Shorted or open oven light socket, Incorrect or shorted light bulb, Damaged wiring to light assembly, Failed light relay or triac on control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn off power before changing bulbs or accessing light sockets.

  • Check bulb: Remove the oven light cover and bulb. Inspect the bulb for broken filament or dark spots. Replace with the correct Sub-Zero-specified bulb type and wattage.
  • Inspect socket: Look for burned contacts, melted plastic, or corrosion in the light socket. If damaged, replace the socket assembly.
  • Test socket: With power off, test continuity through the socket leads. An open socket requires replacement.
  • Check wiring: Inspect the wiring from the socket to the control board for damage or loose connections.
  • Control board: If the bulb and socket are good but the light never receives power, the light relay or triac on the control board may be faulty and require board replacement.
