Possible Causes
Tripped thermal fuse or high-limit thermostat, Open power leg (L1 or L2) at junction box, Failed main control board power relay, Loose or burned wiring to both elements
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power at the breaker before opening any panels or junction boxes.
- Check for 240V supply: Many Sub-Zero ovens require 240 VAC. If one leg of power is missing, lights and controls may work but elements will not heat. Have a qualified person measure voltage at the junction box.
- Inspect junction box: With power off, remove the cover and check for loose wire nuts, burned connections, or broken conductors. Tighten and repair as needed.
- Check thermal fuse / high-limit: Access the rear or top of the oven to locate any thermal fuse or high-limit thermostat in series with the elements. Test for continuity; replace if open.
- Inspect wiring to elements: Look for burned or disconnected wires at both bake and broil elements.
- Control board: If power, safety devices, and wiring are good, the main control board may not be sending power to the elements and should be replaced.
