Possible Causes
Shorted temperature sensor reading low, Stuck bake or broil relay on control board, Miswired element circuit, Door not sealing properly
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: If the oven is overheating, shut off the breaker immediately and allow it to cool completely.
- Check with thermometer: Use an oven thermometer to confirm that actual temperature is significantly higher than the setpoint.
- Test sensor: With power off, measure the temperature sensor resistance at room temperature. Replace if reading is much lower than spec (indicating a short).
- Inspect door gasket and hinges: Ensure the door closes fully and the gasket seals all around. Replace worn gaskets or hinges.
- Control board: If sensor and door are good, the control board may have a stuck relay or faulty temperature control logic. Replace the main control board and do not use the oven until repaired.
