Possible Causes
One of multiple elements not energizing (e.g., bake or broil), Weak or partially open bake element, Low line voltage, Failing relay on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power before testing components.
- Observe element operation: During preheat, look through the door (if elements are visible) to see if both bake and broil elements glow. On some models, broil assists preheat.
- Test elements: With power off, measure resistance of bake and broil elements. Replace any open or significantly out-of-spec elements.
- Check voltage: Have a qualified person verify that the oven is receiving correct line voltage (typically 240 VAC).
- Inspect control board: If an element never energizes despite being good, the corresponding relay on the control board may be faulty and require board replacement.
