Display shows 'door' or a flashing door icon and oven will not start a bake, broil, or self-clean cycle.

Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker before accessing door switch or lock components.

• Check door closure: Ensure the door closes firmly and evenly. Look for obstructions on the door gasket or frame.
• Inspect latch and strike: Examine the metal latch on the door and the strike on the oven frame. If bent or loose, adjust or tighten screws so the latch engages fully.
• Test door switch: On models with a visible plunger switch, press it by hand and listen for a click. If no click or if the oven light does not respond, the switch may be faulty.
• Access and test switch: Remove the front trim or side panel to access the door switch. Use a multimeter to check continuity when the switch is pressed. Replace the door switch if it does not change state.
• Door lock models: If the oven uses a lock to sense door status, inspect the door lock assembly and wiring for damage and replace if necessary.

Do not bypass door safety switches; they prevent operation with the door open and are critical for safe use.
