Possible Causes
Open (broken) oven temperature sensor, Disconnected sensor harness at rear or control board, Broken wire in sensor harness, Corroded sensor connector
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker before accessing rear panels or control area.
- Locate sensor: Inside the oven cavity, find the temperature sensor probe on the rear wall. Remove its mounting screws and gently pull it forward to access the connector.
- Check connection: Ensure the sensor plug is fully seated. If loose, reconnect firmly and test the oven.
- Test sensor: With the sensor unplugged, measure resistance across its terminals using a multimeter. At room temperature, it should be around 1000–1100 Ω. If the reading is infinite (open) or far off spec, replace the sensor.
- Inspect harness: If the sensor tests good, trace the harness from the sensor to the electronic oven control board. Look for cuts, pinches, or burned insulation. Repair or replace the harness if damaged.
- Control board check: If sensor and wiring are good but F3 remains, the sensor input circuit on the EOC may be faulty. Replace the electronic oven control board.
Always reinstall the sensor securely to prevent it from touching oven walls or racks, which can cause inaccurate temperature readings.
