Possible Causes
Failed electronic oven control board, Internal relay contact failure, Power surge damage to control, Loose neutral or line connection at control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker before accessing the control panel or wiring.
- Power cycle: Turn off the breaker for 5–10 minutes, then restore power. If F5 reappears immediately, proceed with inspection.
- Access control board: Remove the back cover or front control panel screws (depending on model) to expose the electronic oven control (EOC). Take a photo of wiring for reference.
- Inspect wiring: Check all connectors to the control board for tightness and signs of heat damage or discoloration. Reseat any loose connectors.
- Check for board damage: Look for burnt spots, cracked solder joints, or bulging components on the control board. If present, the board must be replaced.
- Replace EOC: If F5 persists and no external wiring issues are found, replace the electronic oven control board with the correct Summit part number. Transfer wires one at a time to avoid miswiring.
Because this fault involves internal control electronics, many homeowners prefer to have a professional technician perform the replacement.
