Possible Causes
Control lock feature enabled by user, Stuck control lock button, Software glitch in electronic oven control
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: This is typically not a hardware failure. No disassembly is required.
- Disable control lock: On most Summit ovens, press and hold the Lock or Clock button (or a key labeled with a lock icon) for 3–5 seconds until the LOC indicator disappears. Refer to your user manual for the exact key combination.
- Power reset: If the lock indicator will not clear, turn off the breaker for 1 minute, then restore power and try the unlock sequence again.
- Check for stuck key: If the lock button feels stuck or does not click, the keypad may be physically damaged. In that case, the control panel/touchpad assembly may need replacement.
If the control remains locked even after following the manual’s procedure, the electronic control board may be faulty and should be evaluated by a technician.
