Possible Causes
Recent household power outage or brownout, Loose power cord connection, Tripped breaker or intermittent supply, Faulty terminal block at oven connection
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: If you suspect wiring issues, turn off the breaker before inspecting connections.
- Confirm power event: If lights or other appliances also reset, PF is likely due to a normal power outage. Clear the code by pressing Cancel and reset the clock.
- Check breaker: Ensure the oven’s double-pole breaker is fully in the ON position. Reset if partially tripped.
- Inspect terminal block: For hardwired or corded ranges, disconnect power and remove the rear cover to access the terminal block. Look for loose screws, burned insulation, or melted plastic. Tighten connections and replace the terminal block if damaged.
- Monitor frequency: If PF appears frequently without known outages, have an electrician check the supply voltage and connections to the oven circuit.
PF itself is not a fault in the oven, but repeated power issues can damage electronic controls over time.
