Possible Causes
Burned-out oven light bulb, Faulty light socket, Defective door switch, Failed light relay on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before replacing bulbs or sockets to avoid electric shock.
- Replace bulb: Remove the glass light cover inside the oven (usually twists off). Replace the bulb with the correct high-temperature oven bulb specified by Summit.
- Test door switch: If the light still does not work, press the door switch plunger and listen for a click. If the oven light never comes on and the switch seems faulty, replace the door switch.
- Inspect socket: Check the light socket for corrosion or burned contacts. If damaged, replace the oven light socket.
- Control relay: If the bulb, socket, and switch are good, the light relay on the control board may have failed. Replace the electronic oven control board if necessary.
Use only bulbs rated for oven use; standard household bulbs can fail quickly or shatter under high heat.
