Possible Causes
Open or burned-out broil heating element, Loose broil element terminals, Burned wiring at broil element, Failed broil relay on electronic oven control
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker and allow the oven to cool completely.
- Inspect broil element: Look at the upper broil element for visible breaks, sagging, or burn marks.
- Check rear connections: Remove the rear panel to access the broil element terminals. Ensure wires are secure and not charred. Repair or replace any damaged wiring using high-temperature-rated parts.
- Test element continuity: Disconnect one wire from the broil element and measure resistance across its terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed element; replace the broil element.
- Control board check: If the element and wiring are good, the broil relay on the EOC may be defective. A technician can verify voltage at the element during broil. If no voltage is supplied, replace the electronic oven control board.
Always reinstall the rear cover securely to maintain proper cooling airflow around the oven.
