Possible Causes

Failed tangential cooling fan motor, seized fan bearings, blocked fan blades, faulty wiring to cooling fan, defective control board fan driver

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect the oven from mains power and allow it to cool fully before working near the fan.

Cooling fan inspection:

  • Remove the oven from the cabinet if necessary to access the top or rear where the tangential cooling fan is mounted.
  • Visually inspect the fan blades for grease buildup, debris, or insulation obstructing rotation.
  • Spin the fan by hand. It should rotate freely without grinding or stiffness. If seized or noisy, the motor is likely faulty.
  • Check the wiring harness and connectors to the fan motor for burns or loose connections.
  • With power disconnected, measure the fan motor winding resistance. An open circuit indicates a failed motor.
  • Replace the cooling fan motor assembly if defective, ensuring correct orientation and secure mounting.
  • If the fan and wiring are good, the control board may not be supplying power to the fan; inspect for burned components and consider board replacement.

Test: After reassembly, run the oven at a moderate temperature and confirm that the cooling fan starts automatically and E06 does not reappear.
