Possible Causes

Failed door lock motor, jammed lock mechanism, broken lock microswitch, misaligned door latch, wiring fault between lock assembly and control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing the door lock assembly. Ensure the oven is cool.

Door lock checks:

  • Open the oven door and inspect the latch hook for damage or misalignment. Gently bend back into position if it is slightly out of line.
  • Remove the top panel of the oven (after pulling it out of the cabinet if needed) to access the door lock motor assembly.
  • Check the lock mechanism for mechanical obstruction, such as bent metal parts or foreign objects. Lubricate lightly with high-temperature-safe lubricant if stiff.
  • Test the lock motor coil with a multimeter for continuity. An open circuit indicates a failed motor.
  • Locate the lock position microswitch(es) and test for continuity when the lock is manually moved to the locked and unlocked positions.
  • Repair or replace the door lock assembly if the motor or switches are defective. Ensure all connectors are firmly seated.

After repair: Restore power and start a pyrolytic cycle to confirm that the door locks automatically and E08 is cleared. If the error persists, the control board’s lock driver circuit may be faulty.
