Possible Causes
Loose or damaged communication cable, oxidized connectors, failed user interface board, failed main control board communication circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before removing the control panel.
Checks:
- Remove the front control panel to access the user interface board and its connection to the main control board.
- Inspect the ribbon cable or harness for damage, kinks, or burn marks. Replace if any damage is found.
- Clean the connector contacts with contact cleaner and reseat them firmly.
- Visually inspect both boards for obvious damage such as burned components or corrosion.
- If reseating and replacing the cable does not resolve E15, substitute either the user interface board or main control board (starting with the more suspect one based on visual inspection or service bulletins).
Note: Some Teka models may require board pairing or configuration after replacement; follow the service documentation.
