Possible Causes

Empty or incorrectly seated water tank, blocked steam nozzle, failed steam generator heater, defective water level sensor, wiring fault to steam module

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power and allow the oven to cool before working on the steam system.

Basic checks:

  • Ensure the water tank (if external) is filled with clean water and properly seated in its compartment.
  • Inspect the steam outlet nozzle inside the cavity for scale or food debris. Clean gently with a soft brush and descaling solution if necessary.
  • Remove the oven from the cabinet to access the steam generator module (if fitted). Check for leaks, corrosion, or burned connectors.
  • Test the steam generator heater for continuity with a multimeter. An open circuit indicates a failed heater.
  • Check the water level sensor or float switch for free movement and correct wiring.
  • Replace the faulty steam generator, heater, or sensor with Teka-approved parts.

After repair: Reassemble, refill the tank, and run a short steam or hydroclean cycle to confirm that E16 is cleared and steam is produced.
