Possible Causes

Blocked ventilation, failed cooling fan, degraded cavity insulation, control board temperature monitoring fault

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power and allow the oven to cool completely.

Ventilation and cooling checks:

  • Inspect the installation to ensure that the oven has the required ventilation clearances specified by Teka (top, sides, and rear).
  • Check that cabinet vents are not blocked by panels or stored items.
  • Test the tangential cooling fan for proper operation (see E06). Replace if not running or noisy.
  • Inspect the safety thermostats and wiring for signs of repeated overheating.
  • If the oven is correctly installed and the cooling system is functional, but E18 persists, the control board’s temperature monitoring circuit may be faulty and require replacement.

Tip: Avoid running pyrolytic or high-temperature cycles back-to-back without allowing adequate cooling time.
