Possible Causes
Stuck or open relay on EOC, Shorted heating element, Damaged wiring to element or fan, Internal control board failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before testing elements or removing panels.
- Identify affected function: Note which mode triggers E8 (bake, broil, convection). This helps locate the specific relay/element involved.
- Test heating elements: Remove rear panel and disconnect the suspect element leads. Measure resistance across the element. An open circuit or very low resistance (short) indicates a bad element; replace it.
- Inspect wiring: Look for burned, pinched, or broken wires between the control board and the element or fan. Repair or replace as needed.
- Control board relays: If elements and wiring test good, the relay on the EOC may be defective. Replace the EOC if relay contacts are welded or not switching.
