Possible Causes
Failed door lock motor, Misaligned door latch, Broken latch switch, Wiring issue between latch assembly and control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power before working on the door lock mechanism. Beware of sharp metal edges.
- Check door closure: Ensure the door closes fully and evenly. Adjust hinges if the door is sagging or not sealing properly.
- Listen for lock motor: When starting self-clean, you should hear the lock motor run. If silent, suspect the motor or its power supply.
- Access latch assembly: Remove the top panel or front trim (depending on model) to access the lock motor and latch. Inspect for broken plastic parts or disconnected rods.
- Test switches: Use a multimeter to test the latch position switches for continuity when the latch is manually moved to locked/unlocked positions. Replace the latch assembly if switches are faulty or integrated.
- Wiring and control: Check harness continuity from latch to control board. If wiring is good and the motor does not receive power, the EOC may be defective.
