How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the oven immediately if you smell burning plastic or electrical odors. Disconnect power at the breaker.
- Inspect interior: Once cool, check for any plastic, packaging, or utensils left inside and remove them.
- Check rear and bottom: Remove rear panel and inspect wiring near elements and terminal block for melted insulation or burns. Repair or replace damaged wiring.
- Fan motor: If the smell comes from the top or rear, inspect the cooling and convection fan motors for overheating or binding. Replace if necessary.
- Control board: Inspect the EOC for burn marks or melted components. Replace if damaged.
