Oven displays F2 and may shut off during a bake or broil cycle; oven may feel excessively hot.

Safety First: Turn off the breaker and allow the oven to cool completely before working on it.

• Check for obvious overheating: Confirm that the oven interior is not excessively hot due to misuse (e.g., foil covering vents, blocked fan, or running self-clean too long).
• Inspect oven temperature sensor: Locate the thin metal rod (sensor) protruding from the rear wall of the oven cavity. Remove the mounting screws and gently pull it forward to access the connector.
• Test sensor resistance: With power off, disconnect the sensor and measure resistance with a multimeter. At room temperature (~77°F / 25°C), it should read around 1080–1100 Ω. A reading far outside this range indicates a bad sensor.
• Replace sensor if faulty: Install a new oven temperature sensor probe, route the wires through the insulation, and reconnect the plug securely.
• Check control board relays: If the sensor tests good, the bake or broil relay on the electronic oven control board may be stuck closed, causing overheating. Inspect the board for burnt spots or welded relay contacts and replace the board if damaged.
• Verify ventilation: Ensure cabinet cutout clearances and front ventilation slots are not blocked, especially on built-in Thor Kitchen wall ovens.
