Possible Causes
Overheated lock mechanism, Failed lock motor, Stuck lock switch, Faulty control board lock driver
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and allow the oven to cool completely (several hours) before attempting to release the door.
- Power reset: After the oven is fully cool, restore power and see if the Toshiba control automatically unlocks the door. Sometimes a power cycle clears the error.
- Manual release: Consult the user manual for the manual door release procedure. Many Toshiba ovens have a mechanical release lever accessible from the top or behind the control panel. Use it gently to unlock the door.
- Inspect lock assembly: Once open and power is off, access the lock. Check for heat damage, melted plastic, or seized linkage. Replace the lock assembly if damaged.
- Check lock motor and switch: Test the motor and position switch with a multimeter. Replace if they do not operate correctly.
- Control board: If the lock hardware is good but the board never sends an unlock signal, the lock driver on the PCB may be faulty. Replace the control board.
Never force the door open with tools; this can damage the glass and hinges and create a safety hazard.
