Possible Causes
Open grill element, Burnt grill wiring, Faulty grill relay on PCB, Over-temperature cut-out for grill open
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate the oven from mains power before accessing the top panel.
- Visual inspection: Remove the top cover to access the Toshiba grill element. Look for breaks, blisters, or burn marks on the element.
- Continuity test: Disconnect the grill element terminals and measure resistance. An open reading indicates a failed element; replace with the correct Toshiba grill element.
- Check wiring and cut-out: Follow the wires from the element to the PCB. Inspect for burnt insulation or a tripped thermal cut-out in the grill circuit. Replace any open cut-out with the specified part.
- Relay/PCB: If the element and wiring are good, the grill relay on the control board may not be energizing. Replace the control PCB if the relay output is faulty.
Ensure all connections are tight and use high‑temperature rated wiring when making repairs.
