Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate the oven from mains power before accessing internal wiring.
- Visual check of grill element: Inspect the upper grill element for cracks, bulges, or burn marks. Any visible damage means the element should be replaced.
- Access terminals: Remove the rear panel to reach the grill element terminals. Ensure spade connectors are tight and not oxidized. Clean or replace any burnt connectors.
- Continuity test: Disconnect the wires and measure resistance across the grill element. A reading of 15–40 Ω is typical; infinite resistance indicates a failed element.
- Control board inspection: If the element is good, inspect the main PCB for a faulty grill relay. Look for heat damage or cracked solder joints around the relay pins. Replace the main control PCB if the relay is defective and not serviceable separately.
Reassemble, restore power, and test the grill function. If E5 persists with a new element and good wiring, professional diagnosis of the control board is recommended.
