Possible Causes
Seized convection fan motor, Open fan motor winding, Obstructed fan blades
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the oven from mains power before accessing the fan assembly.
- Access fan: Remove the fan cover inside the oven cavity. Check for food debris, foil, or screws obstructing the fan blades.
- Spin test: Try spinning the fan by hand. It should rotate freely. If stiff or jammed, remove the rear panel to access the motor shaft and check for mechanical obstruction.
- Electrical test: Disconnect the fan motor wires and measure resistance across the motor terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed motor.
- Replace motor: If the motor is seized or open, replace it with a genuine Tristar convection fan motor. Transfer the fan blade to the new motor and ensure it is securely fastened.
Reassemble, restore power, and test convection mode. If E8 remains with a new motor, the fan control relay or PCB may be defective.
