Possible Causes
Mechanical timer not set to manual position, Faulty electronic timer relay, Misconfigured automatic cooking program
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the oven is cool while you familiarize yourself with the timer controls.
- Set to manual: On Tristar models with a mechanical timer, ensure the timer is set to the manual (hand) symbol, not to a timed-off position.
- Cancel programs: On electronic timers, cancel any delayed start or automatic programs and set the timer to show the current time only.
- Test relay: If the oven only works when the timer relay is tapped or manipulated, the relay contacts may be worn. Replace the timer module or main control PCB depending on design.
After correction, the oven should start immediately when a function and temperature are selected.
